Gonzo Innovation is the process to develop unique products and ideas by utilizing less than conventional techniques that are infused with passion and a sense of expanded purpose. At its core Gonzo Innovation is a participatory, experiential process that requires commitment. Participants invest not only monetarily in the development of a new product or idea, but also physically and psychologically. Decisions are made and success is defined not simply in monetary terms. It may involve personally immersing oneself into the development process of a product, or perhaps forging ahead on a mission to develop a great idea in the face of seemingly insurmountable odds. Whatever the technique, the outcomes of Gonzo Innovation represent a value-based extension of the participants themselves and are driven by a pursuit of excellence and appreciation for mutual societal benefit.

Writer C. Engdahl has been immersed in the innovation space for more than 15 years.
